Patagonia

Scouting notes from the studio — where we'd photograph a wedding here, and how we'd plan the light. We're currently booking Patagonia dates.

Patagonia is the end-of-the-map elopement — granite towers over milk-turquoise lakes, glaciers calving into silence, and wind that edits every frame whether invited or not. Couples don't come here for a venue; they come to feel small together in the most beautiful way available, and to bring home photographs that prove it.

Where we'd shoot

The granite towers
The massifs of Torres del Paine and the Fitz Roy skyline above El Chaltén — vows on a lakeshore with three thousand metres of stone behind them. The scale does something to a ceremony that no cathedral can.
Glacier lakes & ice fields
Turquoise water, drifting ice, and glacier walls that boom mid-portrait. Boat access puts a couple against blue ice with zero hiking; the frames look arctic and impossible.
Estancias
Working sheep stations turned lodges — lenga-wood dinners, gaucho horses, corrugated barns against the steppe. The human-scale warmth that balances the landscape's indifference, and the natural stage for the celebration itself.
The steppe roads
Guanacos, fence lines, and hundred-kilometre horizons — the driving frames between locations become some of the best in the gallery. In Patagonia, the transfer is the shoot.

The light, honestly

Southern-latitude light is the payoff for the wind: golden hour stretches long in both directions, and summer (November–March) gives daylight past ten with dawn alpenglow that sets the towers burning red. Weather moves in four-season cycles per afternoon — the famous lenticular clouds are the consolation prize. Wind is constant and strong; veils become kinetic sculpture, and we plan hair, dress, and humor accordingly.

Planning notes

This is a true adventure elopement: distances are serious, roads are gravel, and the best locations ask for boots and a daypack. We'd build a two-to-three-day window (weather insurance, and the landscape deserves it) with an estancia as base camp. Elopement collections fit Patagonia best. Travel quoted flat — and dawn at the towers is the non-negotiable we'd write into the plan first.
